What is an electronic signature?
An electronic signature is an electronic sound, symbol, or process, attached to or logically associated with a contract or other record and executed or adopted by a person with the intent to sign the record. You can use electronic signatures on documents requiring your signature. By using electronic signatures you eliminate the need to print, sign and fax your documents to us.
Do I have to use electronic signatures?
No, you do not have to use electronic signatures. If you would prefer, you can simply click the "opt out" button and move to the next step. There you will be given the opportunity to print, sign and fax your documents the traditional way.
Is it a legal signature?
Yes, since 2000, federal legislation ensures that electronic signatures are the equivalent of a pen-and-ink signature. Using our electronic signatures is the same as signing the document by hand.
Is it secure?
Yes, it is secure. To ensure the integrity of your electronic signature, the Student Password and identifying information that you are asked to provide will be validated. All sensitive information is encrypted and sent over 128 bit SSL connections to ensure extra protection for your private information.
What is the Password that I am being asked to enter?
It is the same password that you use to log in to your student account on our school's website. If you have lost this password you may contact Technical Support to have it recovered.
Troubleshooting Tips:
If you try to submit the signature and receive an error message, or you get no notification of the submission, this could be a sign that the electronic signature is not working properly. If this occurs, please give us a call at 847-586-4503, Option 2 so we can troubleshoot the issue.
